The history of skateboarding, as is known, began in California. Thank you for the movie "Lords of Dogtown", many have heard talk about the history of skateboarding in California in 1970. Dogtown, or Santa Monica / Venice Beach, is actually skates for the first time very popular.
During the decade of 1970, a group of skaters known as Z-Boys essentially created the subculture of punk skater / currently exists. These skaters are part of a Jeff Ho Zephyr team called Team, which is how they got his name.
The Z-Boys were its beginnings in 1973 when Jeff Ho and others open Jeff Ho Surfboards and Zephyr Productions Venice Beach. The first Z-Boy Nathan Pratt was then fourteen. He was hired to work in the shop, and became a manufacturer of surfboards apprentice and a founding member of what would become the Z-Boys. In 1974, this group of adolescents as included Allen Sarlo, Jay Adams, Tony Alva, Chris Cahill and Stacy Peralta. These surfers were notorious around Dogtown a group of thugs and fall that has dominated waves.
In the 1970s, surfing is a sport of the cons-culture frowned upon by much of society in general. The Z-Boys were not only surfers, skaters, but also eager to use their card to imitate the movements of the surf and create their own stuff. The Z-Boys competition first went to Del Mar Nationals in March 1975, today recognized as the first major skating competition in mid-1960, nearly a decade earlier. Half of the candidates were members of the Z-Boys partly thanks to the new style and approach compared to other competitors.
