The True Origins of Skateboarding
The origins of skateboarding have been associated with California surfers in the 50 and 60. Looking for something to imitate "Surf on land", created tables rudimentary skating. Anger died in the 60's and early to mid skate virtually disappeared of 70 when he had a large increase in popularity.
Stay connected to the surfers, skate caught on and developed their own culture with innovation trick and ramp skating. Today skaters get their rush to not only perform tricks on ramps, but on the railings and steps around parks and public promenades. Skateboarding, once a passive pastime for surfers, is a very competitive sport that has launched the ultra successful careers of skaters like Tony Hawk and Bam Margera.
As that the sport grew, so did the types of advice to skaters on his way. A skate is a way in which a skater off his personality, the way the board has designed and painted with the color wheel. However, in general, skateboards come in two standard types, longboards and short boards.
Shortboards are used to trick skating since they allow the skater to quickly move and manipulate the table with ease. Tricks can include ollies, doing handstands and nosegrinds.
Longboards were basically created to mimic the sleek look of a long surfboard. These boards are mostly used for cruising the streets, but many skaters talent in the tricks to turn data on them.
As mentioned above, many professionals and even common street skaters created their custom tables deceived to their own specifications. These plates can become very expensive, but also can dramatically improve performance skater.
Skateboarding has generated its own culture of "skate punk", which includes large and loose clothes (hence easier to skate), crazy hairstyles and even their own music. skate punk culture is quiet and many punks take pride of being called "lazy."
With the evolution of skateboarding and skate culture explosion, dozens of manufacturers, journal editors and international events have joined the fray. What it tells us that skateboarding is a fun sport that seems to be here to stay!
