How did you get started in BMX riding?
There were young guys in my neighborhood who raced BMX bikes, and encouraged me to go get a … So I did and started going to the racetrack with them. I ran for about 3 years, then realized he did not really pedal, I started go to a local skate park in and that was the beginning of my horse on the track … 7 years ago, wow!
You were the first girl to do a backflip. What have you done, how many times it is necessary and what is the process behind it.
Yes, I was the first woman in the world to ever do a back flip on a bike … I was 19 and was to spend several months at Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania .. A guy named Jay Rodriguez joked with me one day saying we were going to learn backflips tonight … I said yeah sure what .. so I guess it is more serious than I thought .. so that night I started to learn that the foam pit .. I think the second attempt was made to the rotation down, and within a week or what I was shooting the jump zone. Then it exploded in a contest that asked Woodward CFB Contest. I fell really bad the first two time, but the adreneline pumping and I decided to pull … the third time he succeeded. I never really thought it was big deal … now that I think that is very well make history. Basically, this is one of the easiest tricks in the book I think .. all you have to do is commit to … make sure you have enough speed, a box jump pretty good, and only back landing place, and there already!
What other sports do you enjoy doing, then?
I love snowboarding in winter tm and from time to time. bike … I also like playing on a skateboard. I grew up on a skateboard is always fun.
How does it feel to one of the pilots that woman in a male dominated
sport?
Well, when I was younger, I never realized I was the only girl in the skate park. Over the years, I thought it was great. Boys could follow, and type of relationship a child was obviously in my favor. haha
Besides yourself, there are a number of other runners who really
made progress in promoting sports for girls. What do you think
women together on stage?
I think it def. each time is great .. and I see more and more events are in the categories woman who is pretty impressive. A few years ago that was never the Having …
What women drivers come to mind and what are your thoughts on your
competitive opponents?
It's one thing I love is not competitive … that's what racing is not as … I see as I ride my bike a good moment around the world and meet new people.
Does competition among the girls, or is it a friendship?
I think it is defined. people who are competitive, but that comes with any sport. I know that many girls are like me and we are very glad to see other girls on horseback.
Where do you see the future of the BMX women going?
Honestly, who knows. the world is the endless opportunity, and if we continue to push the limits, it could be like everybody sport.
Are there other athletes from other sports that inspire? If yes, who?
Yes, I am always Inspirease by athletes from other women … Aimee Mullins is an Olympic athlete that paragraph is simply incredible … his courage, strength, and she comes, she pushes me. I believe that free Skier Sarah Burke is awesome .. Lisa Whittaker in the skate is really impressive, with Cara-Beth Burnside skating and snowboarding.
What do you do more BMX – leisure activities, excursions?
I like going out with friends, going to the beach, walking, eating food. Traveling is something so special .. I love going to new places and meet people, experience different cultures / food.
Do you have a movie star or favorite movie?
I have a few favorite movies … Vanilla Sky, Donnie Darko, and Winged Migration.
A words are your favorite bands and singers?
Boysetsfire, The Spill Canvas, and Jose Gonzalez.
Where is your favorite place to travel and why?
Probably the best place I've been to Africa … I really want to go back there .. so things to do, beautiful scenery, wonderful people, and one of the best places on earth!
What did you do when you were a child (in addition to a professional driver)?
I always wanted to be a homemaker. I am currently completing my BA Science degree in administration protection against fires Technology Cal State Los Angeles.
Do you have a word for all the girls reading this?
If you want something in life, go ahead. Practice makes perfect really. Never let anyone or anything stand in the way of your dreams!
