In Celebration of Black History Month, The Caribbean Community Resource Center will present the "Annual Black Book Fair" on Wednesday, 06 February, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm in the City of Toronto, 100 Queen Street West.
This annual event features authors, publishers, storytellers, booksellers, spoken word artists, Emerging Writers, Workshops, and more. Many activities are available for youth and adults alike. Teachers are invited to bring students. Parents should take children. All are welcome, the event is free to the public.

Other Details:
– The Annual Black Book Fair creates a unique opportunity to share educational materials and learning in an innovative and experimental with the community in general. The event provides students with the role models for self-efficacy, and exposure to career choices, including entrepreneurship, the publication of writing, and other creative activities and efforts and for people of diverse backgrounds. The experience enhances self-esteem, self-esteem and expand self-awareness and success.
– Ms Jo Lena Johnson, President and International Manager, will open the event, and then make the 11 am Workshop for educators, teachers and librarians focused on promoting self-esteem, success and participation among children of color.
– At 18:00 Ms. Johnson will hold a workshop exciting and interactive parents and children to provide tools for communication, inspiration and how to create quality time in family activities everyday. She has conducted training sessions and lectures throughout the U.S., the UK and Canada for more than 51,000 adults and students involved – www.absolutegood.com.
– Featured writers include: Writer / Actor DIRK Mc Lean – The CBC has produced The House The Hermitage Road, Dirk adapted from his book of childhood memories of Trinidad with the same title. The script was published in the anthology, Canadian Mosaic II, Simon & Pierre. His plays for young audiences, schools have come Ontario's primary will be included in it is called a master? and The Real McCoy (With Amah Harris and Itah Sadu). He is the author of the children of steel drums and ice skates (Groundwood Books, Toronto) and Play More! A Carnival ABC (Tundra Books, Toronto and New York).

Sadlier has written four books, including leaders of the Way: Black Women in Canada, Mary Ann Shadd: Publisher, editor, teacher, lawyer, Suffragette and Tubman: Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, Her Life in the United States and Canada. Your best best selling book, The Black Book History Canadian children (2003) was nominated for the Silver Birch Award, the Award of larch, red cedar Award and other international awards and was number one in children's literature by the tap and Quire in October 2003.
