How to do a complete system restore on MacBook Pro?
I bought a macbook pro to use the Final Cut Pro. In the beginning it worked great and fast. But then it started getting slower by the day. Now it takes 20 minutes and more to render a 2 minute video. I deleted all the extra junk from the computer, but still it shows less than half of the hard drive empty. I would like to do the complete system restore so I can start from scratch. Does anyone has any information on how to do it. The computer is less than a year old.
If you want to start from scratch:
1.) Save anything you want to keep on an external hard drive
2.) Insert your Mac OSX disk that came with the computer
2.) Restart your computer and hold the “option” key
3.) You will have the option to choose a hard drive or the install disk, choose to boot to the install disk
4.) Once booted go to the Utilities menu at the top and choose disk utility
5.) Choose the option to erase your disk and wait for it to erase.
6.) Restart your computer and it should boot to the install disk and come up with an installer
7.) Follow the installer and wait for it to reinstall Leopard/Snow Leopard
8.) Reinstall Final Cut and other software.
