How do you identify an original Magic the Gatherinc Card Deck?
I am wondering how to identify an original first series Magic deck. I was told a long time ago that the ink color was different.
I think I have some cards from the first series that was released. I was told they may be more valuable than later reprints and that the way to tell them apart is that the ink is darker or lighter than reprints.
The advice above is fairly decent, one of the key things to look for is copyright date, the oldest cards won’t have one. Also realize that just because your card isn’t an Alpha Black Lotus worth several thousand doesn’t mean it’s worthless, there are plenty of recent, reprinted cards that still sell for 10-15$ a card, though as a general rule older cards are worth more than newer ones.
