Decks Griptape Blank

By admin

One great way to decorate your skateboard is to cut an intricate pattern in the grip tape. This can be done easily with a sharp x-acto knife or other kraft knife. You can get creative and cut cool shapes in your grip tape.

Some people like to carve the shape of their home state out of their grip. It’s much easier to accomplish with a state that isn’t very complex, such as Nevada. Cutting states into your deck is a little more difficult if you live in a place like California.

If your skateboard deck has an image on the top, you can carefully remove the grip around that image to let it show through the top of the deck. This becomes easier when it’s a simple square logo on the deck. Generally, the simpler a logo is, the nicer it will look.

If you don’t feel like cutting holes in your grip, you can try decorating it with paint pens. One excellent thing about paint pens is that they’re easy to use. They also tend to last much longer than other solutions.

Paint pens can be pretty costly, however. They’re still great if you want to decorate your deck without cutting shapes out of your grip tape. Paint pens allow you to get a little more intricate, too. You can easily write letters or numbers on the deck. This would be difficult to do if you were only going to cut shapes out of the grip tape.

If you have spray paint, you can make some cool stencils. Stencils are great because they’re cheap, easy to make, and look great when they’re applied properly. The most important thing to remember while spray painting your deck is to not overdo it.

If you overdo it with the spray paint, then it will leak down into the deck and make it heavier. The paint is also less likely to dry, in turn staining whatever it touches with paint.

On the off chance that you’re not feeling crafty, or can’t get into spray paint, paint pens, or an x-acto knife, you can decorate your board with some regular felt tip pens. These felt tip pens won’t show up very well on the grip tape, but could be used to decorate a blank skateboard deck.

Felt tip pens are likely to rub off, as well. Most skateboard decorations come off after time, but regular markers come off much easier than something a little bit more permanent, like a paint pen or spray paint.

If you’ve put a lot of effort into your art, you probably want to keep it protected. If you have any kind of lacquer or clear coating, it should do the job nicely. It won’t be a permanent protector, but it will work well in the short run.

Now that you can proficiently decorate your skateboard, you should go out and show it off to the world. I would recommend that you use permanent solutions like spray paint or paint pens before using a marker, and also I want to remind you that cutting holes in your grip looks awesome if done correctly. Follow these instructions correctly, and your skateboard will be decorated for a very long time.
