Goodwood Decks

I was fortunate to have worked in the industry of the platform at home for 20 years. I think I've worked with nearly all available materials on the building roof. Over the years, I developed a particular objection to a decking material, ie to d. compounds. If you are not familiar with the composite material is described as a cover panel of wood fibers and plastics with the idea to be more durable.

Initially, this building material was promoted by the various providers and authorities as "material decking ideal "that would change the world of the platform itself. Through years, I've gone from being a believer, his eyes open to the optimist skeptical (now) widespread criticism. Not that I did not have a material fair test and they built many bridges use. I would like to share five reasons why you think you should abandon the idea of using the compounds to build your deck.

1. Compound is not as low maintenance as you might think. When the material is first introduced as a material decking, suppliers of materials described as "maintenance free". Everyone was very happy with the concept and the covers are coming. Then about 3 years later, there was a rumor owners. In reports from cracks and wear. Research went to investigate, repairs are made, manufacturing processes have changed (in principle) and the material was then marketed as "low maintenance." But this is no end of history. Despite the reverse and changes were made, a wave of applications has been developed around default composite material with injuries. Do not believe me? Then I suggest you do a simple Google search for the word "question" and any compound that considering (or simply "composite decking complaints"). I think it might be a revelation. For me, the conclusion I had a problem with all composite deck that I built.

2. The manufacturers have not taken the necessary steps to take. I do not want to be a full review of composite materials because they have a couple of features that are good. But the real problem with the concept is that manufacturers, including from today, have never been fully tested products that have been on the market. Income continues to come, and seem satisfied with the handling of complaints at the rear end. Frankly, I do not know if it matters much to put a product stellar there. As I said before, I've never seen.

3. Compound is expensive. N whether you have a sale price of compost or not, but tends to be on top. The rationale is that it is made with all the benefits of manufacturers sold. But as I already said, most benefits are simply not true. There is no reason you should pay more for a manufacturer that you can potentially continue to sell you an inferior product. My opinion is that manufacturers have been the best sellers of this equipment in years that good manufacturers.

4. Esthetic Composite is overrated. Once again, manufacturers have done an excellent job of presenting many options for homeowners. Different combinations of material composition, with different colors. But the comments I hear from others is that it looks and feels manufactured and artificial. I've had owners tell me they wanted after he had gone the natural route. And I can share with you that Nothing is sadder than sitting on a terrace with an exchange of ownership I miss you.

5. Composite Wood is not. This brings me to the main primary problem with the compound. And that is their desire to be something that is not is to wood. The idea behind the compound was that it was essentially going to be "better than wood." I can almost hear the laughter when Mother Nature showing the manufacturer makes this statement today. (I honestly think that Mother Nature takes revenge on us all to try to remove it) All the efforts of the compounds in comparison with the wood itself today simply fall flat -. Not as pretty as wood, feel not as well as the wood is not as strong as wood, and is more expensive (both short and long term). I do not know about you, but it seems that the wood is very far ahead in almost all aspects!

I think I made my position very well in terms of composition. The obvious truth is that years experience, I do not compare composed of natural wood (especially in the hands of a craftsman of wood).
