Jumping stilts are also great for running really fast. You can run as fast as as most people are able to ride a bike because you are 18 inches higher of the ground and are able to take really long strides. Also when your running you can bounce for extra height and stride, this will allow you to go faster as well. When you are running on your jumping stilts you must be very careful because you know what it is like to fall off a bike or a skateboard at high speed, you can scuff and scrape yourself up very bad, so beware of your surroundings and where you are at, at all times. You are also able to run and many types of surfaces in your jumping stilts including concrete, asphalt, gravel and even dirt and grass as long as they are not wet and soft be sure to check them first.
I like running on grass for the same reason many people jog on grass it is softer and more comfortable plus if you loose your balance and fall down then you wont get hurt as bad. Remember when you are on your jumping stilts to always wear your helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads and your knee pads to minimize injury especially for kids. When running on the roads please be sure to adhere to all the rules of the road like stopping at red lights and stop signs you still can be fined if you do not. Stopping on your jumping stilts is also a challenge, remember if you are doing 20 miles per hour you wont be able to come to an instant stop it takes a little time to get slowed down unless of course u fall down. We don’t want to be falling down though.
These jumping stilts can be quite dangerous you should find some grass if you want to learn anything new on your stilts or just a beginner and most definitely if you have your children on jumping stilts. Parking lots are also a great place to practice your running abilities, on weekends they are even better because there are less cars in them. Running is also great for your health and because you can run 20 miles per hour on your jumping stilts they are a great mode of transportation you can get to where you are going in no time at all. Think about it they are great for your health and they use no fuel to get to where you are going so they are also great for the environment, they are a plus all around I think everyone should own a pair of jumping stilts of there own. You can run with your dogs and be able to keep up with them, the entire family can run together and have great fun. So run be safe and have lots of fun do it.

Planning a move to Kanata. Do you know any good hockey leagues for kids? We have a 12, 15 and 8 yr old.?
The twelve yr old plays single A level in the GTHL (Toronto) so we would be looking for similar level. The 15 and 8 yr old play house league. Also, are there any skateboard parks in the area?

Hockey will not be an issue. Kanata is actually considered part of the ammalgamated city of Ottawa…kinda like Scarborough is to Toronto. The Kanata Minor Hockey Association can help you out, link below.
Not a skater, so I really don’t know about the parks. There is one in Kanata, I’ve seen one in the downtown Ottawa area and also one in Orleans. I’ve posted another link with user comments about the skate park, mixed reviews.
The main gripe about Kanata is the traffic. Rush hour is bad, especially if the Senators are playing that night…it can take 60-90 mins to travel there from downtown…though, if you’re coming from Toronto you may laugh at what we refer to as traffic.
