I am buying my first long board for just a little bit of cruising but for mostly going down some pretty big hills in the neighborhoods around me. I am 6 foot 2 and 145 pounds. I just want to be able to do all the normal things that you can do on a long board like carve, slide, and make some pretty sharp turns.
I am going to be putting on-
Randal RII 150 mm trucks
Abec retro zigzags 70mm 80a wheels
and DBS abec 7 bearings or IDS oust moc 5 tech bearings (can someone tell me which ones to buy, theres a $15 difference and i want to know if it is really worth it.)
And thats it. If I should have anything else on my board please tell me or if I should change anything please tell me.
If you’re looking into Longboarding. Don’t get S9 because when you get better you’re gonna regret that you bought S9. Get Loaded boards. They’re expensive but worth it. Also 150mm won’t give you sharp ride. Get 180mm for better turning and crusing. and also Retro are good so its fine. Just get DBS bearing because they’re just good. You might think of riser but its nothing really. Also you need sliding glove so you can slide. And no ones gonna teach you this but ZZ has square design which you won’t be able to slide until you break them in which mean you have to ride like 5 to 10 mile so the shiny part of the wheel disappears. but when you do break them in you will slide them like butter. and don’t try sliding when you get it because it will get chuck or break in weirdly.
