If you are someone new to longboarding or are a rider thinking of getting a new board, acquiring a Loaded dervish deck only will not only save you a few dollars but will also provide you with an extremely versatile platform you can tweak with your favored set of trucks, wheels, bushings or bearings to suit your riding style.
The Loaded dervish deck only comes in two degrees of stiffness which you can choose from to give you the kind of ride you want. The Flex 1 board is stiffer and meant for people weighing up to two hundred thirty pounds. It is also suitable if you prefer a stiffer board and a more aggressive ride. The Flex 2 board is ideal for riders weighing up to one hundred eighty pounds. It is aimed at riders who prefer a smoother, more flowing ride.
The Loaded dervish deck only is made of a tri-axle fiberglass and epoxy sandwich with a vertically-laminated bamboo core. This results in a deck that merges exceptional flexibility, great durability and more efficient return of energy applied to the board. The dervish was shaped by Loaded Carving Systems in a convex camber. When a rider applies his weight or force to it, the board flexes and springs back when a rider “unweights” the board by straightening up his legs. This results in very little loss of forward momentum when going in and out of turns or carving down your favorite street or hill.
The board itself has precision milled cutouts, suitable for most drop-through, reverse kingpin trucks making it ride lower to the ground. This results in a more stable platform and when coupled with the trucks, bushings, bearing and wheels of your choice, a more lively and responsive ride. The lowered center of gravity also makes pushing the board and sliding it easier to do.
While drop through trucks can result in an increased risk of wheel bite, where the wheels come into contact with the deck when making sharp turns (which can also cause a bad spill), Loaded eliminates this possibility by shaping the dervish in such a way that its ends are narrower than the middle of the board. Riders have also found that this shape allows one to execute tricks such as shoveits easier to do too.
While the loaded dervish may have limitations at extremely high speeds (due to the fact that flexible boards lose their stability and responsiveness at extremely high speeds) riders who have tried it out have found it to be a more than adequate platform for practically all things one can do with a longboard.

Looking for a fun/unique place to bring my bf for his bday in NYC or Stamford Ct Area?
I would like to do something fun and unique. I am looking for something that possibly not alot of people know about. He is into art (andy warhol) and skateboarding if that is any help. It could be anything from sightseeing to an event to eating out/drinking.
Since I live in the city, I suggest taking him to Chelsea Piers! They have rock climbing (make a reservation), bowling, ice skating, golf, etc.
ALSO, the park along the hudson river is gorgeous! It’s by the west side highway.
Also, go the the museum of natural history/the planetarium! It’s always tons of fun.
There’s Coney Island! Lots of rides, and the beach too!
If you guys like music, go down Bleecker Street! There are tons of amazing record stores! Bleecker Street Records and Rebel Rebel are awesome.
Food wise? Go to Sammys Noodle Shop on 6th avenue! DELICIOUS and HUGE portions of food at great prices!
