Inspiron 500 screen goes black while booting up?–Help!!!!!?
Hi, I’m at the end of my ropes! I think I have a Virus, But I hook the Inspiron 5100 up to my desktop S VGA, and nothing? There is a button to press to tell the computer to use the extra monitor, But I can’t remember? It lets me into the Bios to tell it to boot from XP pro dvd, then in a few seconds it goes blank on me. Has anyone encountered this? Yesterday it appeared that XP was installing, but it goes blank before it completes I’ve gone into “safe mode command line” and reformatted half of the partition on drive d. Now I can’t format drive C? –Good day!!
Sounds like you have a virus or a bad video driver. I think you might have to use your recovery disk.
