Skaters! How much would you pay for a custom skate deck?
I don’t skate, but I’d like to start making custom decks if people will buy them and I was wondering how much you have paid or would be willing to pay for one. Like hand-painted, whatever you want on it. Obviously it’d depend on the design and stuff but just around a cost?
Thx!
I plan on covering the bottom with that polyeurothane stuff that they make for the bottom of boards. Its supposed to help skaters but it’ll protect the art if someone wanna ride them.
the most i’ve ever paid for a skatebaord completely custom built is $230 and that was back in the old school days when things just cost more, now I never pay anything over $150 but that’s because I shop around for cheap parts, if you plan on custom painting on the bottom then it’ll be worth more but the thing is for me the graphic will never stay on it and most people whoul dnever go for that unless they were going to use it just for art, which I would maybe have a couple just to hang on my walls and would expect to pay over $100 for a custom painted deck, just the deck though and only for art, which sometimes if it’s really good can make you lots of money. If that’s what you have in mind is to paint custom designs on the bottom of skatebaords i’d sell them as wall art and not ridable skateboards unless someone wants you to do one for them to ride also, not everyone does grinds but I love to grind and wouldn’t be worth it to pay extra for custom painting design, you could also get into working for manufactures for design drawing.
