How does skateboard truck sizing work?
i always ride 8 boards. ive never botherd to figure out truck sizing but i always see stuff like 149 or 145 and i also see lo and highs. what does the 145 and 149 refer to? and does the low and high just refer to how tall the truck is? that also relates to how wide and quick you turn also right? and what should i be using for an 8 or 8.1 board? thanks!
the 149 and 145 refers to the axle width (the length from one axle nut to the other). trucks that are lows means that when you put them on your board, you will be closer to the ground and Highs are higher from the ground. For 8.0 decks, I would go with trucks that are either 5.0’s (7.75) or 5.25’s (8.0). send me a PM if you have any other questions.
