What is a longboard?

Longboard is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. and abroad. Like skateboarding, longboard consists of a table with wheels and trucks that look like a traditional skateboard. Both require bearings to keep the wheels in motion and tape for the driver more traction while driving.

That's where the similarities end.

Longboards are, well … long. With a long shelf skating longboarding gives additional border stability and speed. These are two requirements for a longboard longboarder because, unlike traditional skate, often means Cruising downhill and sometimes long-distance travel. (For long distance means outside a skating rink!)

Another key distinction is longboard trucks. Usually much longer, longboard trucks incorporate a cap or spring that allows the border to move your weight to turn the board. This act of "size" most resembles the motions of surfing that draws on longboard.

The wheels on skateboards and longboards is one of the largest differences. Most skate wheels have a hardness much higher than most longboard wheels. In English, skate wheels are much harder then the wheels of oil-based urethane that longboarders use. Skateboard wheels most of the time to incorporate a well-rounded lip wheel while using longboard wheels Therefore a well rounded lip wheel and flat. The flatter, more stable and is better for speed, while the well rounded lip is better for sliding.

There are many types or disciplines to longboard. The most popular is the cruise that does not require much effort and is very easy to pick. Other disciplines include speedboarding descent freeride, dance, and slalom, everything is defined in another article.

The mission of the longboard is to combine the sports of surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding and everything in one. With the ability to carve the concrete waves, cruising through the mountains and parks skate, longboard successfully done its job. With frequent and tons progression Innovation is in sports, longboard has a very bright future ahead of him.
