Every Thursday, we read the local rag that has a garage sale ads for the Twin Falls newspaper, which covers the region in general. Thus armed, we take off Friday morning and visit garage sales in approximately 20 miles. Do the same on Saturday.
To hell with high gas prices, full Speed! We sometimes wonder Hagerman to Twin Falls.
Why are we doing this?
Because we live in a small town in Idaho where the closest thing to find something interesting to do is go to the city park and watch children attempt suicide in their skateboarding.
In fact, we have the usual garage sale in Payson Arizona, where he lived for six years after retirement. Payson was almost as good as our people of Idaho.
In Payson, I bought books, mainly. Was approximately 6000 when I left there. I sold on the website Amazon.com and Alibris.com.
I "sold" the company when I left Arizona, I'm too lazy, I have not started the company back in Idaho. (I changed to direct where I do what is called "very little" or "indecent" money.) However, even a garage full of other things we bought at garage sales in Arizona.
And then going to yard sales? Not much, but here is my list:
1. My wife is a doll to go with her dolls zillion others. You can buy clothes for her dolls too. You can talk to dolls with other wholesalers in the garage.
2. You can also do the same with little teddy bears.
3. I can look for the birds to put in a cage 6 feet high that I bought in another garage sale. The cage of wine in a box small enough. The instruction manual was in a language of the Far East. I think I may have come from India. There were instructions, but I had to look at the pictures, because I do not read the Far English East. Well, I got the thing together in no time (about one billion hours). It proved to be a real bird cage. I cage is kept a lot of bird shit, so I decided to fake the birds (who are not so easy to find).
4. I can buy small items to put with my collection of South America at a long table in the lobby. There are some carvings I bought in America South plus some gifts and a few other sizes that I bought here and there. I tried to find a fabric adapted to my table at home longer. I eventually bought at Target ® on the Internet (Amazon Let me mine.)
5. You can also buy wooden carvings of animals that I love. One could add that to buy something that I think it's cute.
6. I can buy some tools that I do not use, and other odds and ends that I I also do not need. These will be sold at garage sale when our future, we hope to clear enough litter from our garage so we can really get at least one car there. (Have I told you about the great "real" pub Dart English game and the goal we have in closes a few weeks for the price of $ 25.00? I put the height of the Mah Jong $ 300.00 package that we have in Arizona.)
7. The main reason to go Yard Sale-ing is to discuss with foreigners, many of which have become friends. It is also an ideal place to practice my Spanish. Garage Sale is the place where clothing for local immigrants purchase for their children and all seems to be sold on Ebay.
We are not called "early bird." They are those who want to move ahead of others. As is usually the sellers. Some of them have a garage sale ever in his front yard. Others sell on eBay. And others like to buy things before anyone can get your gloves on him.
Early risers are not of our class. They are untouchable because they have gone before you ever get there.
Some caregivers really! Can you believe it?
PS We've heard that if you go to a garage sale in Sun Valley, you can get a pair of men's $ 250.00 fine leather shoes for $ 1.00. We not done so far, but pay only $ 0.50. Never pay full price.
