New skateboard set up good?
alright im getting a new board tell me if its good. here’s my old set up.
Mystery deck 8inch (heavy but i like the space)
Royal trucks
jessup griptape
some kind of hardware
no risers
bam wrecking ball bearings
and some kind of wheels..
New Board I Think Will Be Good:
Plan B Deck (7.75in-8in)
Not sure about trucks looking towards thunders
Black magic grip
Random hardware probably luckies
spit fire wheels
reds bearings
no risers
What do risers even do? Should i get them? o well do u think thats good. also give me your favorite, company for each part. thank you
That sounds like a very nice setup. Thunders are great trucks, but they’re a little small for an 8″ deck (Thunders are 7.62″ wide), but it would work with a 7.75″ deck alright. I’d go with some 7.75″ or 8″ trucks with an 8″ wide board (maybe Venture?). And for the risers, they keep you from getting wheel bite (when your wheels hit your deck and cause you to stop abruptly). You’ll need them if you’re getting 54mm or larger wheels. Anything less, you probably won’t need them. I’d just pick some risers up just in case. They’re only like $2.
