Miscarriage, then HCG blood test, what if it doesnt reach zero?
Had a miscarriage 2 weeks ago, and have to go for blood test today, for my HCG levels, and wondering, What will happen if it has not reached zero? What are they really checking this for?
They are checking because if you miscarried naturally without a D&C procedure, there is a chance that some of the pregnancy tissue could have been left inside of your uterus which would cause your hcg levels not to go back down. I am no saying that this is what is happening to know because you haven’t gotten the blood test done yet, but this is what they are checking for. If your levels haven’t gone down they will likely do an ultrasound to check things out and see if there is any pregnancy tissue remaining.
